Tip Cutter — Trimming tips cleanly to length

The tip cutter — colloquially also called a tip trimmer — is the special tool for shortening nail tips. Its unique curved blade with a sliding mechanism follows the curve of the tip: the cut is controlled, without pressing the tip flat or deforming it — the tip's C-curve is preserved.

This is what sets the tip cutter apart from improvised shortening with nail scissors or an e-file: the edge is cut cleanly rather than broken, and the cutting length can be controlled precisely. Especially in tip applications, where trimming is part of every appointment, this saves time and ensures reproducible results.

As a metal instrument, the tip cutter is hygienically prepared like all studio tools: remove organic residue, dry, spray thoroughly with instrument disinfectant — such as CrystalSept — rinse off after 1 to 1.5 minutes of exposure time and store dry. A robust basic tool that no studio should be without.
