Shaft — the holding shaft for sanding rings

The shaft is the carrier for sanding rings — colloquially also called a sanding band mandrel or sanding ring holder. It is clamped into the handpiece of the nail drill and holds the sanding bands that you slide on to shape and shorten the nail enhancement and to rework surfaces. Without this shaft, sanding rings cannot be used — it is the basic tool for one of the most common drilling tasks in the studio.

A word about hygiene: like all metal tools, the shaft must be reprocessed after every client. The tried-and-tested routine is: remove organic residues such as dust and skin particles under running water with a nail brush or in an ultrasonic cleaner, dry the tool, spray it entirely with an instrument disinfectant and let it take effect, then rinse off and dry carefully. Important: neither disinfectant nor water should be left to dry on the tool — over time this is at the expense of the material quality.
